    Default Using Zencart without the shopping cart

    Hi
    I have a client who would like a site that is similar to his company brochure. No selling is to be done via the site. He would also like a section that can only be accessed via password for his reps to see.

    I have started a demo site for him to look at and have removed all reference to categories and shopping cart and plan on doing pages using ezpages.

    Will it be possible to have additional pages that can only be viewed by authorised people, and how do I stop anyone signing up.

    Is this sort of thing addressed in the new book as if it is I will certainly be buying it. Normally my questions are all about customising the look of the site and I only saw the reference to the book today. Am thinking of getting a copy for me and then getting certain clients to buy their own as well.

    Thanks

    First, you can go to Admin>configuration>my store>store status and set that to 1 (Showcase with no prices). That will take care of the no selling part.
    Then, you can go to Admin>configuration>Customer Details>Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending and set that to 1, also. This requires approval to browse.
    Adding pages? Not my territory. Sorry.
    Teach them to shop and they will shop today;
    Teach them to Zen and they will OWN a shop tomorrow!

    Thanks for that. I want everyone to be able to view the brochure pages without needing to log in but only people I authorise to be able to view the other pages.

    Had set it to showcase no prices so am happy I got that right!

    In the admin you can set several store conditions and I think that you want the must be approved to shop.....and you might have to add a condition for your secret area that checks the logged-in condition to enable viewing

    Hi helshop, you may get some clues on how to achieve what you want to do with ez-pages via this thread - http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63890.
