I dont see anything in particular that says what you are doing is wrong. You are basically just hiding the normal checkout button. But thats all. The Google TOS just says dont add google as a drop down item ... mainly they just want to make sure that you use their fancy logo button, and keep it in the "shopping cart" area so that it is before the login.. which you still are doing. I think what you are doing is fine.

Cool! I really hope so, because I will not be using PayPal, or any other processor other than Google Checkout... and I sure don't want to manually send out a payment request to every buyer that doesn't use the Google Checkout button. And the check & money order module doesn't seem to "play well" with the GC module, (at least for me).

I probably need to just send a support request to GC, give them my URL, and make sure that I get it in "writing" that it's ok the way I have it set up. But that will be awhile longer, because our son is now terminal with GBM (glioblastoma multiforme).

Well - looks like this thread is now "moot". I finally sent an email to Google Checkout, and requested them to review my website - and here's what I got back:

    "Hello Geoffrey,

Thank you for your response. I understand you would like to confirm that
your website complies with Google Checkout policies.

After reviewing your website, I can confirm that the modifications you
have made to the ZenCart script are in line with our button and content
    policies.

You may wish to proceed with the promotion of your website at this time.
If you would like to let your customers and site visitors know you offer
Google Checkout, you can display Google Checkout acceptance logos on your
website. These logos are highly visible but unobtrusive, and can be added
to your website in minutes--you can simply update your site with our
    pre-generated HTML.

Visitors who click the acceptance logo will see a text box offering more
information about using Google Checkout to make fast, safe, and convenient
    purchases from you.

To display Google Checkout acceptance logos on your website, please visit
    http://checkout.google.com/seller/acceptance_logos.html.

Geoffrey, we appreciate your interest in Google Checkout. Please feel free
to reply to this email if you have any additional questions.

    Sincerely,

    MyPhuong
    The Google Checkout Team"

I put the "relevant" part in italics. Yay! For me, anyway... this now makes ZenCart PERFECT!
