Adding prices

I'm new to Zen Cart, I have setup a basic configuration, with no urgent problems on the setup-configuration.

I've been adding product, but the product price do not come up in either the preview nor the product display.

As I said above my knowledge is limited, all I can say about my server is that its non-Windows.

Its really strange that this is happening.

What could it be? I have not completely setup it all by myself, my host helped me partly, with the username and passwords etc.

If I go back to edit the product, the price are still there, in that blue-ish box.

So I take its not a database problem, but a problem with the admin setup?

Unfortunately I won't be much help with telling you sertain suff, but I'll try.

It currently running on English and $'s as default, removed the other units.

WHY DOES THE PRICE NOT SHOW???????

It's not possible to tell from the above what is happening. Do you have a URL for your site? What is your default currency?

I have just changd the sign from $ to R, nothing else, but it did exactly he same while showing $.

If you go into Admin > Catalog > Categories/Products does it show a price for the product on the listing page for the category that it is in?

If you edit the product does it show a price?

If you look directly into the database using a tool such as phpMyAdmin, is there a price for the product?

When you entered the price, did you enter a gross price, a net price or both?

Did you accidentally tick the product is free option?

I did quite a bit of reading up on it, and it seems to me as if there could be a problem with:

admin/includes/modules/[handler_name]/collect_info.php

Or that kinda thing

I don't know if this will be relevant, but, I had a simliar (or maybe the same) problem. When I set up attributes for my products one of the attributes to go on the dropdown menu was "Please Select" which obviously had a $0 value. SO - when Zen Cart was pricing by attributes it was showing the "starting at:" thing with no price next to it anywhere because it looked like the starting at price was nothing.

I fixed this by editing the Please Select attribute in the attributes controller and checking YES in the Attribute Flag box for USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY and checking YES for DEFAULT ATTRIBUTE TO BE MARKED SELECTED.

After doing that, my prices were showing up correctly.

I don't know if that helps as I was a little confused reading your post - but, hope it might!
