help question duplicate store on new domain - questions

I want to duplicate my zencart installation on another domain i have parked and not doing anything useful on. Aside from freshly installing a zencart at that domain and copying the database over to one that I set up there, is there anythng else i would need to do to make it work? Thanks in advance.

As long as you use two databases, it will never be a duplicate unless you constantly update one database to match the other.

Curious as to why you need a duplicate and why (if you really do) not operate out of the single database?

Make sure both Zen Installs are the same version. If one is older, the database import may not go as planned. Those need to match up for it to work.

Also, make sure you include (in the new site):

    1) Any 3rd Party modules you had on the previous install (and run the associated SQL installs where needed)

    2) Any SSL Certificates you had will not work on the new server unless you re-purchase for that domain

    3) If you are "shutting down" the old site, make sure you implement a 301 re-direct so you keep your search rankings.

    4) If you are not shutting down the current site, consider running from the same MySQL db (therefore you would not need to "import").
