Problem redeeming gift certificates

I have been trying to solve this problem for quite a while now. I am setting up a new store. I have set up and bought some test gift certificates but when I try to email the amount to a friend I get the following messages in red boxes. It's as though the values I entered in the Send Gift Certificate form are not being picked up.

We did not get the Recipient's Name. Please fill it in below.
Is the email address correct? Please try again.
The Gift Certificate amount does not appear to be correct. Please try again

Can anybody help please?

What exactly are you entering for the value?

Amount to send: 5.00

I have tracked down my problem. It is being caused by a different module Ultimate SEO.

I will take another look at that module and see if I have missed something.
