table somewhere in general layout. how do i get rid of it?

hey. i disabled all the css so i can start from scratch in applying it to my own site design, but i see that when i do this, the layout is not entirely css-based. there are two table cells, one for the left side stuff and then the main window. where are the <td>'s located (what file out of the 400 million) so i can delete them and go from there?

edit: also if anyone knows a quick way to delete all the id and class specifiers in the layouts themselves so i can assign my own names, it would be greatly appreciated.

but i want to separate the areas myself using css. that's how its laid out in my current design. there's no way i can do it?

You can build your template overrides anyway you want, with or without a table. The reason for that particular table is the right and left columns are controlled by the admin and that was more easily done with a table. BTW- it is in tpl_main_page.php
