[FONT=Georgia]Ok I admit that I am a total newbie when it comes to zencart....or anything beyond HTML really, however I need help!! I am sure the back end of my store is a sloppy mess, and there are things that should be simple, that for the life of me I can't get.
My main question right now is how in the world do I remove the zencart banner in the footer?? I have looked everywhere!!

Remove any text in boxes showing
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 1
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 2
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 3

You also need to change the permission level on:
zencart/includes/configure.php
zencart/admin/includes/configure.php
right now they are set to 777 which is what you need during installation, but once it's installed you need to turn the permission level back to 644. If you have not already also make sure you either rename or delete the zc_install folder.
This is a great group here for help, I've been 'Zenning' for a while now and these guys have always come through for me. I'm at a point now where I'm able to help others, you'll be there too one day!

You're right about resetting the permissions. Misty was just pointing out that the setting can depend on the way the server is set up. Some sites will allow 644. Others require 444. Originally Posted by ThePatch

Thanks soo much everyone!! Ok now about that error message....I pulled up the configure.php file, but I didn't see where to change the access. I don't even know how that message got there....it wasn't there for weeks then poof it showed up......

This isn't anything you change in your configure file.
You need to go into your server file manager and change permissions there.
