Assigning media collection to product - problems

I know that only music products can have a media collection attached to them. But when I set up a test music product and tried to assign a media collection (with one MP3 uploaded) to it, the box that opened said "No Products in this category".

You must be working with a product versus a category to do this.
Also, remember to select Product-Music when creating the product.

That's what I was trying to do. I create a test product, selecting Product-Music and then creating it. I created the media collection and uploaded a sample file. But when I got to stage 3 of the process, Assigning the Media Collection to a Music Product, it showed the category in a dropdown list, but no products -or indeed any drop down list for products - under it, as there is supposed to be according to the big Zen book that I am using for guidance. Instead it said: erroneaously: "no products in this category."

Which version of Zen Cart are you using?
What addons have you installed?

I managed to solve the problem by deleting and recreating the products.
