UPS not working -- of an urgent nature

I am working with a client whos UPS is giving him the error

"We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown."

I have two clients experiencing the same problems any suggestions on how to fix the issue,

I have tried removing the module and reinstalling it to see if it went corrupt some how.

Any help on fixing this issue would be wonderful.

I called USPS. They think they may have a problem. If more people called it may help them recognize they do have a problem.

If I remember right I had the same issue, it was that I had to activate the ID through UPS.
I got rid of it though because the rates it produced were outragous IMO.

This just started happening they have both been processing orders for months I don't know if its a UPS problem or a Zen Cart module problem.

But after a call to USPS they say my username is not the problem. What happened today that would cause your UPS and my USPS to get lost?

These rates are no different than if you got them quoted directly from UPS. If htye looked "outrageous", then chances are you had a setting within the Module incorrectly set.

Did you know that if you alter between different "pickup methods", you'll get different rates?

Did you know that shipping to a residential address will give you different rates than shipping to a business? (This setting has to be properly set from with the admin as well).

Did you know that the "way" you set "calculate shipping" (based on shippers address, receivers address, etc... will yield different rates?)

I have the mod working fine on a number of sites, and it was basically "plug and play" (no configuration on the ups end, and just activating it on my Zen side; then configuring the correct variables in the admin).

Just some thoughts.

What "UPS" module are you guys using? The one I have here didn't require me to enter anything in the way of "username and password"? It just pulls the data from the XML feed at UPS? It came with the default install of Zen?

That is the same one I am using, the one that came with zen cart. I just started giving this error a day ago. With the unable to obtain shipping quotes.

Someone mentioned an XML feed, could have changed that location?

As for the USPS problem have you updated your USPS to show the new rates and does it happen to international orders only or all orders.

There isn't a place you change this. It is the method used to pull from UPS and it is "their" file (for lack of a better term).

I processed orders using UPS for the past week without any problems? These are mainly US orders on the one cart I am thinking of.

Our shipping mods stopped working as well, we called them yesterday and they said their server is down and will be back in an hour.. It worked last night for a short while and now it stopped working again!

I remember seeing UPS XML in my shipping mod options before, but now it's not there.. How do I reinstall the UPS XML? if that's working, I might have to speak to my host and ask them to reinstall it for us.

Any clue?
