remove the search filter

Does anyone know how we can remove the search filter off the product pages?

Admin > Tools > Layout Boxes Controller > sideboxes/search.php

Or if you only want it gone from certain pages, you can wrap the call for it in an if test...

Not that search. I mean the drop down search that shows up on the product pages that shows all the products.

Doesn't "sound" like a search, but it is...

Might be similar switches for other listing pages too.

Can the product Alpha Search be changed to the default that is used for the All Products search? (instead of searching products listing by alpha, make the search by "priced low to high, etc the same as the All Products search)
