How to edit any and all pages?

I am new to the zen cart, any cart as well as just working with sites period. I have done pretty well free balling it but I am stumped.

How do I find any page to edit?

For example; I want to edit pages of the shopping cart and payment sections. I also want to use pages 2-5 and change the names of them.

I have looked in define pages and found many of the pages but all aren't listed. I tried developers took kit but have no idea what it is doing. I got it to list a few pages but it doesn't give me the option to click on that page. It also doesn't seem to list the page that I am looking for.

I also wanted to change the names of pages 2-5 and need someone to walk me through to do that. What I have done right now is just add pages with ez pages and turned off the pages 2-5 to prevent it from showing.

I would also like to know how to get to the footer of my site to to place info or logos in that area.

HOpe someone can help! I had one company screw me over and one person who started, cannot finish. I have ordered the book but I cannot wait any longer for this info. I am trying to be up and running since the web design company set me back four months.

This is the file to edit for the cart page text. You can edit any file using a good text editor like Notepad++ or CrimsonEditor - DO NOT use a word processing program.

You will need to download the file to your pc using an FTP program like Filezilla, edit it and FTP it back up to its proper place.

You won't find any whole pages sitting there in the files to edit - PHP builds each page dynamically from various parts at runtime. What you do is find the file that controls the particular part you need to edit.

The Developer Toolkit is good for this - enter a small distinctive bit of the text you want to change in the bottom left box, select all files and search. You can narrow the search when you have more experience.
You will likely want to look for a line that starts "define (XXXXX_XXX = 'xjrfudf your snippet wenewe')"; that is the file and line number to edit that text.

Thanks for that info but I am just lost. I googled how to use the filezilla but still cannot figure out how to use it. Is there any one who is good at this designing stuff along with the zen cart and can help me out? I am assuming by the typical posts in this forum that most people are designers or understand the ftp programs.
