Products without Add to cart

Hi,
I have a cart already up and running, but would like to add some products which will be hire only. I note I can make my site show as "showcase" which is good in the way that the add to cart button disappears, but I would like your ideas on......

Should I have a 2nd identical zencart set up as show case, in a subdomain? Eg. client goes to hire category on main site, and link takes them to identical looking site with showcase only...

Is there a way to make a new product show without an Add to cart button so that I could make it "Email to book a hire" or some such instead of the 2nd cart...

Would love your thoughts, as I'm only a little skilled in zen-cart, and I'm sure there's a great solution.

When entering product, there is an option to specify
Call For Price...choosing this option will result in
call for price image replacing add to cart button.

If prospective buyer clicks on call for price image
they are redirected to your zencart contact form
