Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

ive noticed reading through google base informaton on the google base site that you can upload ratings through an rss feed or uploaded files.

so if people leave a rating and review on my site and when i run my google base feeder do these ratings get passed to google and displayed???

If you open up googlefroogle.php, you can see all of the outputs that are included in the file.

ive got a feu ratings but these dont show on googlebase and ive uploaded a new feed. is it possible at all??

The ratings on google are to do with store's being rated through a rating service. You'll have to search Google to find out which services are accepted.

Yes, mine is a version 5 - so does that mean this will be something I will be unable to use unless my host upgrades? Or does someone know how to work around this issue?

Actually, the problem is...your host DID upgrade. Which means I'm going to have that problem soon because my host is planning on upgrading in the next few weeks.....oh this is gonna be bad.

It means a lot of scripts will have to be updated to use a different SQL query command. I'll look into it in the future but cannot say when.

I love this contribution, but I'm having trouble getting it to work with Google base. I always get an "Upload Failed" message when I try to manually upload the output of googlefroogle.php indicating that something was wrong with the XML format.

Is anyone else having this problem?

[FONT=Courier New]I am running Google Base Feeder v.1.6.14a and found this to be the only version that I can get to upload properly to google.[/FONT]

[FONT=Courier New]With this version though I am having a problem with errors in the xml file, due to these [FONT=Courier New]ü Ü [/FONT]characters being present in a couple of product descriptions. I have checked the code, on line 495, which is present and appears to be the code that would deal with these characters.[/FONT]

[FONT=Courier New]For some reason these characters are still present though and the froogle output file still contains these characters, causing processing errors in google base.[/FONT]
