    Default Override System & Modules

I have read through working with the Override System in the FAQ and in the forum but seem to be missing one point.

I'm getting ready to install several of the different modules such as the product-type-book and the products_profit_margin_calculator_reportv1.1. The readme files state to copy the files into the matching directories but should I be actually copying them in to the CUSTOM folders instead?

Not unless you are going to modify them.

Files not in the core code must go into the default directories and can then be overridden if needed. They will not be overwritten during an upgrade.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

There are a few exceptions to this and are normally in the module readme or install file that is part of the module down load.

These are where they have provided the correct structure and have made it generic with folders named "your_template" and for these you need to edit the folder name to your template name before uploading.
