setting up postage fields. help needed

hi i sell a wide range of product with different postage needs. i was wondering if it is possible to set the postage cost of each item separately like when selling products on eBay where you chose the postage cost for each item you sell thanks advarntek.

also 1 more thing can someone tell me how to remove the "congratulations! you have installed your zen cart" message on the front page.

You might look into the Shipping Module ... Per Unit perweightunit where the products_weight is used as the shipping cost for the product ...

yes but thats no good as postage in the uk also goes by size. i just want to set the postage price when added the product

If the postage is $7.50 and you set the products_weight to 7.50 and use the Per Unit perweightunit Shipping Module then the cost for shipping for this product is $7.50 ...

there is 1 big problem i sell in £ only and not $ this means when i set the wheght to 2.7 for £2.70 it comes up as £5.50 and when i set it to 0 it comes up as £3.00 i have tried paying with the setting in the weiht settings but when it works for one item eg i set weght to 2.7 it comes up as £2.70 it does not work on anoher item eg i set it to 3.0 and it comes up as £3.50. it is getting very confusing and i can find no mod's in the download section which lets you just set the item orice for each item.

The Per Unit perweightunit is based on how much to charge for shipping where the Product is set as:

3 lbs meaning 3 x 1 or $3.00 or £3.00 what ever rate you are using ...

Note: the Shipping settings for Tare should be adjusted if you are using this method ...

thats the problem when i enter 3lb it does not come out as £3.00 as i want it to it comes out as £5.50 if i enter the 0ld it comes out as £3.00. i don't know whats wrong

What is set as the default?

Is it marked as 1.00?

Does your language file have this set for the default?

GBP is set as default as it is the only one there i seleted the others and my language is set to english.

And in english.php ... which of course is copied to your templates and overrides directory ... do you see USD or GBP?
