Default How do I get paid?

I know this sounds like a silly question but I can't find the answer anywhere...

Where do I put my bank details so I can actually get paid for the products my customers are buying?!? The store's ready to go live but I've no idea how the money is actually going to reach me!

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Thanks Azrahn.

None of those seem to help, though, I'm afraid. What I need to know is:

Once a customer has paid for an item, how do I then get the money from their credit card into my bank account?

Or do I simply disable all credit cards and only allow PayPal, thus forcing the funds to go through to my PayPal account?

    Thank you!

To accept credit cards, you will need some type of merchant account. Basically, you will either key credit card transactions manually, using a physical or software terminal, or you will configure the shopping cart to connect to your card processing bank using a gateway provider. The gateway provider that we use is Authorize.net. In any case, if you do not already have a credit card merchant account, you might want to contact your bank for assistance. If your bank can't help you, there are many companies that offer merchant account setup. If you click on the 'Partners' link at the top of this page, the first advertisement is an offer for a merchant account. Once you have your merchant account, transactions will generally fund directly to your business bank account within about 72 hours.

If you decide to use Paypal for credit card transactions, the process is a bit more streamlined, because everything is handled by them, and the funds are directed into your Paypal account. Of course, to use the funds you either have to have a PayPal debit card, or you'll have to transfer the funds out to your own bank account. Generally, transferring funds to your bank account also takes several days. While Paypal has become widely accepted, there may still be customers who are wary of it, and would prefer to deal with a conventional credit card merchant.

    I hope that this helps.

Bob, thank you so much - that really does help.

Could I feasibly install the WorldPay module (as opposed to PayPal) and use that to streamline the payment process, do you think?

    Many thanks again!

of course you could use the worldpay module, setup with worldpay will take a few days to arrange depending on if you have the merchant account with them or your bank. If you have it with them you have to wait up to 4 weeks to get the funds, if the merchant account is with your bank its about 72hrs.

Worldpay will also require a per transaction fee and a setup fee.

    the choice is yours

fabrics - be sure to crunch the numbers both ways before you make a decision. Depending on your sales volume, one option may be superior to another.

    Good luck,

    Hi,
A customer paid by card before I had nochex set up. Will she be billed? Is the money lost?
