multi user vendor platform

I was wondering if you have a feature that lets vendors log into Zen chart and post their products. Sort of like a private account???

I work with fullfillment centers that would like to post their own inventories of products

Re: multi user vendor platform

No. It can be done if you have the programming skills or deep pockets as www.officetrader.net shows. But that site took several months of intensive work, costing thousands of $s.

Re: multi user vendor platform

We are currently running Zen Cart V 1.3.7 wi/patch 1 and have been looking for a module that does exactly what was requested here. Does anybody know if there is an addon available for this now?

Re: multi user vendor platform

To the best of my knowledge, the answer is no different to three years ago.

I've been approached a number of times to do it, and I know other developers have too, but each time the requirement has been a little different, making it difficult to identify the generic requirement, though there's no doubt that there is one out there.

Re: multi user vendor platform

I think I can define the generic :)

Multiple virtual locations ('markets') with multiple vendors in each market AND any vendor may be listed in more than one of the markets.
Customers see one market at a time.

For an non zen example, visit http://harvesttomarket.com, select New Hampshire and look at the Weare, Webster Ridge Locally Grown and the Contoocook markets.

You will see that several vendors are in more than one of these markets. Vendors do not sell directly - thus some have a 'market' containing one vendor.

The payment system allows a customer to order from multivendors at one market in one "order", each vendor gets paid their share. The only thing not well separated is orders - each vendor sees an order that contains all vendor's sold items. There are many rough edges but the basic workflow is there.

This example supports actual physical markets but they are only delivery points. Nothing else makes them different from any other cart except the grouped aspects.

I am interested in seeing what this will take to do. I fear it is a lot. The question is whether it is better to start from scratch.
