    Default Table Rate Confusion !

    Hi
I'm going to ship my products by overall weight.
so, if weight is up to 100grams i'll charge £1.01, up to 200grams £4.03, up to 1000 £3.05
(yes, funny shipping charges, but set to try to figure out how it works !!

I set up the table rate module like so....
    Table method = weight
    100:1.01,200:4.03,1000:3.05

    I've set the shipping/packaging tare to 0:0

when I order a product with a weight of 70 grams the checkout says
    table rate (70.00grams) £2.02 !!!

If the weight is 140grams (2 X 70gram items) checkout then says
    table rate (140.00 grams) £3.03

I've spent 2 days on this before asking for help but I still cant see what i'm doing wrong.

    Any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Nige

Shipping/packaging - what have you set for maximum package size and have you added a handling fee in the table settings?

As the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet, I may well be wrong, but the only way I can visualise that happening is if you had a max package size of less than 140 and a handling fee of 1.01

    Ah .... Thats interesting !!
My package size was set to 50, presumably this is/was 50 pounds or 50 kilos, as i'm working in grams i changed it to 50000 and guess what... all is well at the mill !!
    thanks for the pointer.

No - it was 50 units of weight - the unit you set is merely a label and ZC couldn't care less whether it's lbs, kgs or elephant toe-nails .... and if you think about it logically, if it had been 50lbs or kg then at 70g you were well under the limit.
