    Default But I've read everything.....

I have spent hours reading through the existing posts and can not find a solution, so I would like to know, using the current system (1.3.7) eg not installing mods/add-ons etc, is it possible to do the following and if so how (step by step would be greatly appreciated):

I want an existing user of the website to be able to refer new users to the website and receive discounts from the website for the referrals.

I want this process to be as automated as possible.

From I understand I believe I can create a “discount voucher” with a “referral code” that can be manually emailed from the website to the user. I also believe that this user can then forward this code to multiple new users, and that these user can enter the code when then join/and or purchase. I also believe that I can manually run reports on the redeemed vouchers, manually calculate tallies and manually create new “discount vouchers” that can then be manually emailed to the referring user.

    Is this correct?

Is the best way to do what I want to achieve?

If so how do I manually tally the per-user (referrer) referrals from the “referral report” when it’s indexed by “discount voucher” code numbers?

Without a add on module - there is no default affiliate functionality in Zen Cart

The referral codes built from the Discount Coupons can be passed out or advertised etc.

When the Discount Coupon is used, it will be recorded and then show the sales that Discount Coupon as a referral code "brought" in via the Report ...

The Report is self learning and as Discount Coupons are used, the Report will be able to tell you all sales where the customer has been coded with the Discount Coupon code as their referral code ...

NOTE: as kobra mentioned if you are looking for a true affliates program this is not built into Zen Cart but you might look at our Partners page at the top of the screen ...

My question: is there now a mod that does indeed do this automated function?

ie: send a coupon to the customer that referred the user?

    Thanks in advance!

This is not a feature of Zen Cart at this time ...

Do let us know if you create it as it would be a nice one for those who need it ...

We will be looking into additional features for Discount Coupons in future releases ...

I know this post is pretty old but does anyone know of any progress toward the automated referral program that Tex asked about? Did anything change with 1.3.8? Or have any modules been created? (I'm looking through them myself).

    Thanks in advance.
