Newsletter Maximum Recepient Number

hallo everyone.
we have a store with 8.000 newsletter subscriber.
But we have never tried to send a newsletter before.

now, what will happen if the send one?
Right now our OSC is configured to use phpmail
can our server (mediatemple gridserver) manage 8000mails at ones without crashing?

other question is:
wont be listed in any Spamer list is we send out so many emails at once?

You'll find that most shared servers have a limit on the number of emails that can be sent in a defined time frame (per minute/hour/day).

Have a word with your host and ask what their limits are - you'll probably need to install a mailing program (eg. phpMailer) separate to zen cart and set it to send so many emails per hour in batches of so many a minute.

There's a mod in the downloads section ('email address exporter') that allows email addresses to be exported from zen that you could use in conjunction with a separate mailing program.
