Please help I cannot install

Please please help, I have been searching so if I repeat another thread forgive me, but I downloaded the zen software, uploaded to the control panel public html, the install instructions say:
Zen Cart has a built-in automatic installation system. However to use this you must first unpack
the code to a web server.

The web server can either be on your local computer or on an internet host.

To start off, you should have to extract the Zen Cart(tm) ZIP file.

I thought I did this I tried upening the zip file on my computer and uploading all the files 9 files at a time (whew! what a time) then the entire zip file.

You will then need to run the install script.

To do this you need to open a browser and type in the URL.

http://{www.mydomain.com}/zc_install/

Well when I type that, it says zc_install is not on the server. Then I went back and looked at the zip file, zc_install is just a folder that holds about 40 items, which are uploaded on my server. What do I type to get this going? I also tried to download a previous version of zen cart and that was the same. I must be doing something wrong....Please Please help. Im new to this software and I am so so frustrated!

In case I didn't make it clear, I uploaded the files to my server from my comptuer...sorry.

Did you upload this to your "public" area in your account?

Usually "public_html", or "www" on many hosts

Yes it was all uploaded to public.html

Are you using a host that accomidates zencart?
If so you may find an easier way to install zencart through the cpanel.
Some hosts have 'Fantastico' which installs zencart very easily.
Check that your zc_install folder is in the correct possition too.
