Default Pricing by weight or volume for some products only

    Hi,

    I'm working on a store at https://www.coffeemamma.com.au/store/

I'm a bit sub par with attributes, but I need to set a product up so that different weights of the same product are available.

    If you look at https://www.coffeemamma.com.au/store...&products_id=3
it has the functionality I need, but not the user friendliness or intuition.

How do I use attributes to have 250g = price A, 500g = price B and 1000g = price C? Especially when different products have different prices for the same weights?

I'd also like to have syrups at 250ml = price X and 750ml = price Y, but I assume that the answer for the weights will also translate to the syrups

I've put a text file at www.coffeemamma.com.au/weights.txt which may help you understand better...

I also need to put the 'weights' options up under the body text. In other words I'd like to put either a drop box or the radio buttons which are currently under the 'Grind' up where the bullet points are with the weights

    Thanks,

    Bruce

    Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions for me - even if it is just that I reword the question?

    TIA

Did you try adding the price to the Attributes?

    Either you enter them as:
    products_price 2.50
    small + 0.00
    medium + 0.50
    large + 1.00

    Or as:
    products_price 0.00
    products_priced_by_attribute Yes
    small 2.50
    medium 3.00
    large 3.50

    Hi Ajeh,

What is the 'zenid' or 'zenadminID' ?

I don't know what you have removed in order for me to identify what you mean?

    TIA,

    Bruce

    Hi Ajeh,

Something I have just thought of as I started to try to implement these suggestions:

How do either of these suggestions effect the weight? In my example, small is 250gm, medium is 500gm and large is 1,000gm. This will obviously effect the price of shipping, but how do I program that in so that Zen Cart updates the price, weight and shipping accordingly?

    Thanks,

    Bruce

    Hi All,

Is there a shipping price by weight attribute or add-on that I can use for this?

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Zen Cart uses an unit of weight ...

We call it lbs but this can be grams or what have you ...

The problem is you need to translate it when trying to use mixed units of measure ...

Simply changing the text from lb or lbs to grams is purely a text define issue ...

Now you need your shipping module to manage that correctly ...

Example: UPS expects weight in pounds ... USPS expects weight in Pounds and ounces ... Other shipping modules might expect the weight in grams ...
