change "New Products for" layout

Hello,

I can over ride tpl_modules_whats_new.php.

But I want it to look like tpl_products_new_default.php

Pasting that code into the override version of tpl_modules_whats_new.php just gives the Sort By dropdown and text reading "More new products will be added soon. Please check back later."

tpl_products_new_default.php works fine from the "New Products" link.

How much of this code and/or what part of this did you paste and what part of the orig did you remove?

I tried a full replace and got what I mentioned.

Also tried adding just the "* display the new products" section below the orig code and got the orig display and text reading "More new products will be added soon. Please check back later."

It doesn't seem to be finding the new products.

Do you have products added?
How long has it been since you added a product?
Check the date filter for new products in the admin

I added products in the last couple of days.

Not sure where the date filter is, but
tpl_products_new_default.php works fine from the "New Products" link, meaning it shows all the new products.
As does the orig tpl_modules_whats_new.php

edit: I have "max values: new product listing - limited to" set to 0

This should prevent a new listing and most likely why you get the message...

According to the admin panel
max values: new product listing - limited to" set to 0 = All Products

also - it seems that modules/new_products.php is what I need to change.

I thought that this was New Products Listing- Number Per Page

What this is : is the time filter that I referenced

You are mixing these in error tpl's belong in templates and things like new_products.php belong where you find them and not as a tpl

Try looking at the tpl_modules_products_new_listing.php and then tpl_modules_whats_new.php and see if this illuminates anything
