folder contents help from FTP window

Hi,

Is there a tutorial or sticky about what files need to be uploaded to which directory? specifically for product images. I have tried opening up certain images to see if I can figure it out when viewing the template...but I get a message about not able to parse the image from the FTP window.

I am seeing a few image directories:

/var/www/html/...our store.../image
/var/www/html/...our store.../images
/var/www/html/...our store.../includes/template/images

Product images can go anywhere you like, they don't even need to be in an image directory. The path is specified when inserting or editing your product.
The default folder is /images.
Default for attribute images is /images/attributes.

Not sure where your /image folder came from.

the /image folder within your templates folder is specifically for template and layout images.
