I installed Zen Cart with no errors and a working database. But this is what comes up by default after installing (sids.sdf1.org/example/zen-cart-v1.3.7-full...). I installed it to use a virtual URL (sids.sdf1.org/example/sample01)or whatever but the only that doesn't say "requested URL does not exist" is what shows up at that link. There are errors on the page there also.

Any ideas or solutions?

Could you step back, take a deep breath and then restate the problem, preferably with a little more detail. I'm afraid that what you've written isn't making very much sense at the moment.

Sorry i was in a hurry when i typed this, and a bit buzzed from a day of doing nothing but reading online...

Here's my problem:

Take a look at what comes after installing: sids.sdf1.org/example/zen-cart-v1.3.7-full... (click links to see part of the problem).

I set up Zen Cart to use a virtual URL (sids.sdf1.org/example/sample01) or whatever that is called. Using that, the server returns URL says "requested URL does not exist. The first link does come up with something but it doesn't work properly. There is no formating and take a look at the error message at the bottom of the page.

Any ideas as to what is causing the problem?

The problem is basically that you are directing Zen Cart to look for code in, and build links to, a location which doesn't seem to have that code.

I suspect that you were trying to create an alias (i.e. spoof the URL to appear different to the actual location) and instead have re-directed Zen Cart away from the code and to the aliased URL.

Could you be more specific about the following comment?

When you enter the root directory of Zen Cart it allows you to choose a URL that will be displayed rather then the actual directory Zen Cart is in. In my case Zen Cart is actually in sids.sdf1.org/example/zen-cart-v1.3.7-full... but i wanted the URL to be displayed as sids.sdf1.org/example/sample01. But when I go to "sids.sdf1.org../sample01" i get the error message. However the first link will display zen cart. The only problem is that Zen Cart does not work properly. As you can see there is no styling.

I want to know what is causing this and how to fix it. I am going to reinstall Zen Cart without using an virtual URL and i'll provide the link.

Thanks for the help but I guess my solution is just to use the actual URL that Zen Cart is in. I was using a Virtual URL which was probalby causing the problem.

What Zen-Cart DOES is allow you to load your files to www.mysite.com/here/there/everywhere and the customer will see www.mysite.com in the browser. HOWEVER, the files MUST be in the location you select.

It appears you loaded them in www.mysite.com/here but want the system to miraculously find them in www.mysite.com/here/there/everywhere.
