application error non-existent class Errors During Checkout

    Greetings Zenners -

(Sigh) This site was working great last week. I was able to check out with success using the AIM payment gateway and money order options. Then yesterday, I started receiving errors like this during checkout:

Fatal Error: non-existent class: item in ......./classes/shipping.php on line 47

There were a few of these for different files, but lately it's stuck on this one.
So I followed Ajeh's advice of clearing out all the files in /classes, and uploading the fresh ones (from Zencart 1.3.7 new install) by FTP. I tried this at least twice, maybe 3 times (mind is cloudy now). No cigar. So I went in and tried to reconfigure the shipping settings - just removing and adding back the Per Item ship module, removing and adding back my payment mods, editing and saving the tax zones...

No cigar. Still the same errors during checkout.

I am not sure if this is related, but the hosting server did have an Apache upgrade a couple days ago. I asked the admin to restart the server and that didn't seem to help.

Any thoughts? I'm so sad because the site was ready to launch before this craziness. I have a cold and I am tired, so maybe I am just overlooking something?

Your hosting has changed some with the Apache upgrade - did they change php versions or MYSQL versions?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Thanks, Kim. While the versions and setup hadn't changed, something must have gone arye with the PHP during Apache's upgrade on that server. We recompiled PHP (using same settings) and it seems to have resolved the errors.

Ah the mysteries of PHP settings with so many libraries...
