Can not retrieve forgotten password

Hi,

I have forgotten the test account's password. I am trying to retrieve the password. The system says that it has sent a new password, but it never comes to the test email account.

Please help to troubleshoot this. "Contact Us' or Admin Send email works fine. I am stuck! I have seen similar posting in the forum, but none seems to help me...

Which password are you trying to resend, the admin or customer?

Hi,

I am trying to retrieve my test account's password. So it is not about resetting admin's password. I was wrong about my assumption that I could send emails from my admin account. Not any more.

Here is my problem. I can receive email "Contact " form. I can NOT send admin emails, customers do not get Welcome message, they can not retrieve forgotten password. although the system says it has sent the new password.

I have tried all the combination PHP/Sendmail, nothing helps. I found out that the IP is blacklisted at http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx (my domain is bestaudiobookdownload.com). I do not think I can do much about it without going somewhere else. I do not understand if the IP is blacklisted, why I can send emails through CPANEL. Why ZenCart's email is filtered? What options I have here? Can I use external mailserver? How do configure my email options then?

Also do you have the optin in admin/configuration/Customer Details/Customer Default Email Preference set to 0?

Yes, I set the option to '0' (Text). Don't you think that the emails getting blocked because of the banned IP address? I do not know what I can do about that except move away from the hosting account. I can send email from the CPANEL though. Thanks,

I am thinking the template your using is hardcoded and missing some of the core code to actually make this work.

But I could be wrong, but I would bet a cookie to a pickle thats the problem, or your hosts is blocking somehow, thats only two options I can think of

When you say my template is "missing some of the core code to actually make this work " what do you mean? Can you please simplify this with an example? For example when a customer asks for forgotten password, which codes are executed before ZenCart hands over to the mailserver for delivery? I have seen similar emails in the forum, but I can not find it now. And I am still looking...

May be something is missing in my customized overriding system. The IP is no longer black-listed. I turned on debugging (email archiving) in ZenCart, and all the emails are registered in the MySQL database. Still no email reaching my mail box for the test account. As I mentioned earlier, I can send email from CPANEL, so my ISP is not blocking the emails. Right?

is the emails getting bounced back? If so what does the header have in it as the error, or show the error itself.

I am sure it is something simple.

shoot me access via pm to mysql and I will reset it manually for you and maybe you can work it out from there

try using sendmail as your email option see if this helps.
