Reset weight in an attribute

I need help setting a product weight to zero based upon an attribute. I tried talking the cart owner into a different solution, but this is how they want the product listed. Cart is 1.3.7 version.


Coffee

Option: Package Size
½ pound $15.00 prefix weight=.5
1 pound $28.00 prefix weight=1
5 pound $140.00 prefix weight=5

That is all working. However, now she wants to add an option for delivery. I believe the owner will use the Delivery Schedule as a flag on the order. However, if someone orders weekly or monthly, they get free shipping.

Option: Delivery Schedule
Once << shipping weight above is valid and charged based upon table rate >>
Weekly << free shipping >>
Monthly << free shipping >>

I thought there was a trick to reset the product weight with a multiply by 0 or a set to zero from another attribute. Since the weight in the first option is variable, I can't just subtract the appropriate amount, I have to zero out the weight.

So what I want to know is how (if possible) to adjust the product weight and set it to 0 (for free shipping) if someone chooses other than the ONCE delivery schedule.

I have it all working except the free shipping if a one-time purchase.
