problem adding/editing products

I did not want to put this on the thread that was just created "adding/editing products" cause it might be class as hi-jacking that thread. But to the mod if it turn out to be related you can merge this thread with the other thread.

ok the question / problem.

Few months ago (about Feb time) we started adding stuff to our test site. But than we open our real shop, started cleaning the house and our outdoor markets got busy so left the site for a few months. Now those things have settle time got some time to get the site complete and back up.

well first thing is the sql database script no longer work, the reason is cause between Feb and now the server the host got me on they turn off php.EXEC() for security reasons.

They can move my account to other server where it is still turn on

But today tried to add an item to my online shop, and get this problem.

Type in all the details (price, weight, description, etc.) than click on preview. Now instead bring up say a completed item page with option to save to database or cancel. It just load up the actual shop home page and can't save the item.

Now one thing that might be a problem, is yest I ask the ISP host what was the SQL password for the Zen-cart username uses to connect to the MYSQL database. They gave me a password (need to know password for this mod I found to intregrate zen-cart to ebay (for ppl who are interested the url for the add-on http://www.auctionlisterpro.com/) and they first said they can't tell me the original password only give me a new one. But later on gave me a password. They say they did not change it but could they change it (ie created a random one) hence zen-cart can not connect to mysql database to change the SQL database now? Or can it be other problem?

NB: I will post this in the the the group "don't fit into any other group" cause there was other thread with a similar question so to keep them together in case they are related.

It's probably best to deal with the person that wrote the code for the mod.

It's a very new mod, and not many people have had a chance to try it.

Oh maybe should not mention the mod. It is seperate to zen-cart it does not change any files, it is standalone but it need the username + password that the zen-cart sql user account uses to access the database to retrieve the data to put on ebay that is all. Since I used fantasico to create the zen-cart orginally it told what username it created, database name but not the password.

Now wondering when ask the ISP for password on Sat instead of giving me the actual password they generated a new one and gave me that. Hence now zen-cart got wrong password so when you click on preview it does not connect to database and hence go straight to the shop homepage.
