Installing FEDEX shipping

Hello, sorry for posting a question, that is so obvious to many. I am trying to install the FEDEX option. The readme file just instructs to upload the files. Do I need to upload just the pnp files? From all 3 folders? To where?
I tried to guess, but got the error "No response to CURL from Fedex server" Is it related?
Also, once I have it set up correctly, does this module transfer the ship to info to my Fedex account, or I have to do it manually, like I do now with Paypal?

you need to upload the files in the directory structure that its in,

Yes the error you are getting is because your server dosnt have cURL compiled,
talk to your host about that one

the fedex module ONLY displays rates and attacehs them to the order it does nothing with shipping,

Thank you for the quick response! My ISP Hostgator.com supports cURL, I checked with their tech support, they said it is running. Are there simple steps of elimination to see where the broken link is?

No response to CURL from Fedex server

cURL cant be found, they may need to recompile it,
we had an issue when we upgraded cpanel on a few servers,

or it may be called by proxy

It looks like I am missing an important step as I called FEDEX today, and they said that in order for it to work, I need to register with them first ( I have a fedex account, but it is not the same). I hate to take the bandwith here, but is there a step by step instructions here or on Wiki that spells out the first time FEDEX install? When I went to the Fedex site (FedEx Ship Manager API) I quickly got lost in their app notes...

OK, fedex shipping module is ONLY used to display shipping rates,

you need to make sure that you have a fedex account,
put this in the appropriate block in the shipping module setup,

the first time you try to get rates it will assign a meter number,

you will need to make sure that your host has cURL compiled and that if its using a proxy that your host gives ytou this information

thats it,

this module dosnt send any information to fedex to print labels,
you will have to take care of that manually
