There's always the book 'PHP & MySQL for Dummies' - part of the 'for dummies' series. I've got it and its got some useful stuff in it.
Online, I've just googled 'basic php tutorials' and it comes up with quite a few.

http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp is one I often use, and it does start very basic stuff, which is good.
