Default Authorize.net setup issues. Please help! GoDaddy hosting

I'm trying to set up authorize.net AIM module. I've obtained the transaction id and key and am in test mode. During the checkout, when clicking on "Confirm order", the page just hangs and times out.

I've also tried using SIM module, and this seems to be working. During checkout, the user enters cc info on client's website, then when clicking "confirm order" the URL appears to go through secure.authorize.net/.../....dll or something along those lines. However, the user never actually leaves the client's website. Upon checkout, it takes the user to "checkout success" page on the client's website.

My client set up the authorize.net accout herself. When I contacted authorize.net, they informed me that both AIM and SIM are installed by default, and I can use either method depending on the "script" I'm running on the cart. When I explained the checkout process using SIM on our cart, they said it sounds like a "hybrid script"???

I would like to use AIM module rather than SIM. I'm not sure what the problem is. I would appreciate it if someone could guide me through the process.

I am running Zen cart 1.3.7.
    SSL is installed.
    Hosting is godaddy (booooo)
    CURL proxy: 64.202.165.130:3128

I still cannot setup authorize.net AIM correctly. I don't know what's wrong. Is it possible checkout confirm times out because my SSL is not setup correctly? Rep from authorize.net says the problem is with the cart or script, and there is nothing they can do to help, but I know this is not true, as other people have set up the module just fine.

I just don't know where to go from here. Anyone?

Try their named proxy instead: proxy.shr.secureserver.net:3128

They're right. There's not much they can do to help.
The problem isn't with the script though. It's with your hosting. GoDaddy is a bear to use for advanced server-to-server communications such as is used by the AIM module.

Try the different proxy address. Also, make sure CURL Proxy Status is set to True.

    Thank you DrByte.

I *think* it may be working... at least the checkout_process page doesn't time out now and continues to success.

    I changed 2 things.
1)used the named proxy as you suggested.
2)in authorize.net settings, changed delimited response to "no".

I'm receiving order receipt with the supplied checkout info from authorize.net, so I'm guessing my cart is now communicating with the gateway. I'm still in test mode, so I can't see any transactions.

I'm currently in test mode. I want to view some test transactions through authorize.net. If I choose "Authorize only" under zen-cart under production mode, can I view the transactions in authorize.net without incurring any fees? Are there any other alternatives to testing transactions?

You will not see test transactions in your Auth.net Manager Console.
If you set your account to Live, and do a live transaction, you will see it show up in the Manager console.

Live transactions will incur a fee. Specifically, you will be charged the flat-rate portion of your fees for any attempted authorization or capture, whether approved or declined.

If the transaction actually "settles" later, you will also be charged the percentage-rate portion of fees for that transaction's value. If you void it before it settles, you will not pay the percentage fee. You will still pay the authorization flat fee (which is usually a few cents).
