Does anybody now of a product builder option for Zencart? (
(As in MYOB)

For eg: I have a product called "Harmony Ball" which is automatically deducted from stock when ever a purchase is made.

My difficulty is with a special of this product which is "3 x Harmony Balls"

It would be ideal if the stock would be deducted automatically from the stock of the first product. Otherwise I have to deduct 3 Harmony balls manually every time I sell a special.

I am not using attributes as I wanted a separate listing for the product to take advantage of the specials option.

Any ideas?

If 3 items were added to the cart (in this case, 3 Harmony Balls) then all 3 should be deducted from the inventory IF you have Zen Cart setup to "Track Inventory" and "deduct from totals".

This is the case no matter whether the specials are used or not.

Of course, you couldn't expect all 3 to be deducted from inventory if you created "1" product and called it "3 Harmony Balls". That would only deduct 1 from the inventory total because it is only "1" product.

However, if you had a product "Harmony Balls", and the special was "buy 3 get the discount" (or something like that), then the customer would have to add 3 individual "Harmony Balls" to their order to get the special price, and in that case, all 3 would be deducted from inventory.

Make sense?

By the way, you can run specials even when products are priced by attributes. It makes no difference, just a bit more complex.
