    red flag transfer problems

i need to move hosting companies, and i have bought my new one already. i backed up my sql database, and restored it on the hosting service and now i get the following error:

1054 Unknown column 'startdate' in 'field list'
    in:
[select startdate, counter, session_counter from counter_history where startdate='20070704']

    Any ideas?

    thanks

Have you checked the structure of your counter_history table in the restored database? Does it contain the three fields listed in the SQL that you posted?

Can you tell us more about how you backed up and restored the database and what options you set along the way?

What version of Zen Cart were you running on your previous host. Which version are you running now?

in the counter_history table are only 2 fields: month and counter. this is on both my old and new database.

my old zencart is version 1.2.5, database patch level 1.2.5

my new zencart is 1.3.7, database patch level 1.2.5

I would think that there's a high chance that your new Zen Cart code is unable to find data added to the database since it was last updated. This is just the first instance of the problem, you'll find many more.

Happily, it should be easy to fix. Just upgrade your database to make it compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.7. You can do this by running the installer (zc_install) and taking care to select upgrade and not install. It will auto-detect the upgrades you need.
