adding a product that can be downloaded

OK - now although this is in the book, I'm having real problems setting this up.

I've got my file as a ZIP file and it's sitting in the downloads folder.

I've enabled downloads, however I can't seem to configure download attributes.

The book says to go to Catalog > Attributes controller and navigate to te product I want to associate the download with.

However I can't see any of my products listed, only the master category.

Can anyone assist?

How is your site arranged for Categories and Products?

Have you already setup your Option Name(s) and Option Value(s) for the Attributes?

I have a category called software with a few sub-categories inside that. All of the products I'll be selling in those sub-categories will be downloadable products.

I don't understand the Option Name(s) and Option Value(s) for the Attributes.

The book isn't very clear on what's required. My own files are ZIP files, I don't offer any other type...yet.

There are several explinations on downloads that should help to get you started on this ...

Hi.

After four weeks I am now at the end of my tether!

I just cannot get this downloadable product problem sorted and every day that goes by I am losing money because I cannot list my products.

Is there anybody that will install 2 products on my cart, one free and one paid, both for download?

I am happy to pay for this, either to you personally or as a donation to Zencart.

PLEASE help me now as I am becoming suicidal!

I have several thousand products to list in the next couple of weeks.

I realise that [maybe] the manual includes information that may help me but I am not usually this stupid and I don't need the full manual for this one problem, do I?

I am away for most of August and it would be really nice to see some satisfied customers when I return, can somebody help please?
