    Default How to do different price options for one product

    Hello everyone.

    Ive been steadily working on getting my ZenCart up and running and am getting pretty close. Ive been reading through the Wiki and the forums and learning a lot.

    One thing I havent seen yet how to do is multiple prices for one product. I want to sell some of my photography work on line through ZenCart. The problem is that I want to offer the prints in different sizes, but there is only one price field in the product information when you create the product.

    I dont want to have to duplicate the product each time for a different print size. Is there a way to add a drop down or something like that that would show the different print sizes available and the price. So that when the customer clicks on that and adds it to the cart the price for that selection is the total?

    Thanks in advance for any assistance. I got the Tabbed Lite template to work and am loving that option and if I could get multiple pricing working I think I would be all set to start the all out addition of products and put everything on line. Im pretty sure I have everything else done (as far as I can tell anyway) and all I need to do is just get the products added.

    This is what attributes are all about...

    There are several methods to apply them and the following is a "basic" approach andwill requireing refining to get what you want exactly;

    admin > catalog > option name manager > set a name i.e. Size
    admin > catalog > option value manager > add values to size i.e. 5x7, 8x10, etc.
    admin > catalog > attribute controller > select a product > apply/add size & a size
    Repeat for other sizes that this is offered in
    When doing this there are also selections for what this option will be priced at and here is where the fun begins. There are several methods as I stated. If the base product has a price then you can add incremental increases for the optional sizes. If you select 'this is priced by attributes' when you set the product up then the attributes will control the price.

    A real good place to view and learn about these is by installing a separate ZenCart with it's own DB in say a folder named demo or?? and setupup with the demo DB information. This set of products has explanations for the product descriptions and covers the many types of using attributes.

    Kobra, thank you so much for the reply. I had thought that the attributes were how this was done but I guess I wasnt quite grasping how to use them. I appreciate your help and instructions. Now Im off to get this done.

    I am trying to move my current stores to Zen Cart.

    I have been fumbling around the forum and the FAQ pages trying to set up multiple sizes of the same product. Thanks for this post Kobra! I finally have a basic understanding how to get it setup.

    Don't forget to set up the "Please Select a Size" option. It is set at Default and For Display purposes only. This makes sure the customer takes the time to select the size they want.
    A little help with colors.
