Increase space between navCatTabs in top navigation bar?

Hi,

Is it possible to increase the space between the category items listed in the top navigation bar?

I currently have the category items centred in the top navigation bar with excess space to the left and to the right of the listed items. The category items are spaced too close to eachother. They are spaced so closely together that the words seem to run together like one long sentence. I'd like to be able to space them out evenly from eachother across the entire navigation bar, instead of having them all bunched together in the centre.

(The top navigation bar is located directly under the header banner image).

Could I achieve some extra space between the listed items using the stylesheet?
