Product description help needed !

Hello,

I'm pretty new to Zen Cart and have a question about filling in the product description. All our products are added to the Zen Cart, so now we only need to add the images and descriptions.

At the moment I fill them all in seperately like this (in Catalog -> Categories/Products) :

</br></br></br></br></br></br>
<font face="verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">
<ul>
<li>Viewable Screen Size: 17 inches</li>
<li>Color: Silver</li>
<li>Display Type: TFT LCD</li>
<li>Resolution: 1024 x 768</li>
<li>Aspect Ratio: 5:4</li>
<li>Contrast Ratio: 600:1</li>
<li>Brightness: 250 cd/m^2</li>
<li>Response time: 16 ms</li>
<li>Horizontal Viewing Angle: 130 degrees</li>
<li>Vertical Viewing Angle: 100 degrees</li>
<li>Display colors: 16.2M</li>
<li>MTBF: 50,000 hours</li>
<li>Built-in Speakers: 1W x 2</li>
<li>D-Sub 15 Pin Input: 1 R</li>
<li>Analog Audio Inputs (3.5mm): 1 R</li>
<li>Power: 100VAC--240VAC, 50/60Hz (non AC Adapter Type)
</li>
</ul>
</font>

Should I do it for all ~2000 products like this ? or is there another faster/better way to do it ? Also in terms of layout, so I won't have to redo all 2000 products in the future.

all the "</br>" at the beginning are put there to place the description beneath the image.

Like I said, I'm new to this, so any help is welcome.

Thanks in advance, Jan.

Re: Product description help needed !

You need to get yourself the Easy Populate mod which allows you to enter you product data into a spreadsheet, export to a tab delimited file and then import that to Zen Cart. You'll save a huge amount of time.

Those </br> tags. They're errors which the browser you're looking at is correcting for you. Other browsers will correct them differently! The correct tag is <br />. But even better would be to leave them out altogether and use CSS to structure the page to your list where you want it.

Also, and I've not tried this myself, you may want to checkout whether you can add this extra information as product attributes. If so, you can manage attach these to products via Easy Populate as well.
