Adding text to Featured Item on Main Page

Hi, at the moment a featuerd item is just showing the image price and page link of a featuered item. How do I add text to the item on the main page rather than having the customer go through to the Product page?

I've seen featuerd items also look as theough they are in a table view with padding - can someone help me to achive this look also.

Admin > Configuration > Featured Listing.

Can you explain more what you mean by "table view with padding"?

Hi, I think I've may have worked it through. Using html to create a table in [FONT=Verdana]admin > tools > defines page editor > main_page.php. [/FONT]

Sounds kind of like reinventing the wheel... The featured listing can be manipulated both in admin as noted above and with the stylesheet, and is dynamic - no need to paste new items into an HTML page.

Ok I see your point.

I have changed the Display Product Description to Display the first 150 characters, and Display Product Display - Default Sort Order to show 2= Products Name Desc yet it won't show any of the description.

My bad... I don't use featured boxes/listings anywhere, so I forget that the featured centerbox on the home page is not the featured listing.
If you click on the Featured Products... link in the categories box you will see the featured listing. Not sure without some investigating where/how to change the centerbox, and I have to get to sleep now.
