Default how to reset configure.php back to read-only?

    Hi,
I've finished installing Zen cart and the setup is instructing me to:
"For security, you will need to reset your configure.php files located in the /admin/includes/ and /includes/ folders back to read-only mode before allowing people to access your store."
    It's installed on a Linux/Unix server. I'm using dreamweaver on a Mac.
How do I go about doing this?
    Thank you!
    Judy

If hosted, you should have a control panel with a file manager. If just ftp, use permissions in your ftp program.

Thank you very much, I found the "File Manager" link in the control panel and changed it to 444.

Should I wait until after I've built the store to make the configure.php files read only, or does that not make any difference?
    Thanks,
    Judy

as soon as you put anything specific to your site in a config file, it should be protected. the zc_install directory should be renamed immediately after install. Some remove it but I keep it with a different and unique name. It will still work if I need it later.
Also, the admin folder is best renamed after install. Remember that you will need to edit the configure.php (both) to enter the new admin name.

    Judy-

Before proceeding any further, may I suggest you purchase the e-Start book for both you and your client?
