Default client wants edit to shopping cart pages

    Hi,
I'm making a website with dreamweaver, and after the shopping cart is made a client wants to access the shopping cart from her computer so she can add/delete items/mark the item as sold, etc. How can this be done? It needs to be technically easy for her. If she purchases Adobe Contribute to get access to the dreamweaver pages will this also give her access to the cart pages? Or is there another way for her to edit the cart?
    Thank you!
    Judy

You're making a non-Zen Cart site with Dreamweaver? And a ZC shopping cart which will be in parallel or a subfolder like /shop/?

Whatever method you use to access/edit Dreamweaver-generated pages will have nothing to do with the shopping cart. The client will be able to log in directly to the ZC admin and enter/edit products there. If you have actually set up ZC already you should know this...

You're right I havent' set it up. Thanks for the clarification. I feel pretty dumb but I don't know how to get to the Admin panel. Can you tell me how to do that? Do I have to go through the host's control panel or do it online? Also, will I be able to see the template I'm creating only on the remote server?
    thank you for your help!

What have you done so far? Are you expecting to make the complete site in Dreamweaver and then plug in shopping cart functionality? That's not the way Zen Cart (or other PHP carts as far as I know) functions. Some pros do use Dreamweaver for some of the appearance generating - ask them how they use it for that.

Zen Cart can be the whole site, except for forums, blogs and such, which it can send out links to.

In order to see the template, you need to have ZC installed and running. This can be on a hosted server or on a server you can install on your own pc for local development. (See the wiki article "Making a Local Copy of Your Web Site".) The E-Start book is excellent for a comprehensive installation and operating manual.

Once you have ZC installed, you get to the admin by entering
    http://www.yourdomain.com/admin
in your browser address bar, and typing in the username and password you have set up.

two different sites. I website is already made in dreamweaver, and I wanted to add the shopping cart. I've already installed zen cart but now when I type in the mydomain.com/admin I get:
    "PAGE NOT FOUND
We cannot locate the page you're looking for. Please check the address and make sure all letters are lowercased with no spaces. You may also move to a different page by using the links in the menu bar above."

Does the E-start book cover working with Zen Cart in dreamweaver?

the other site I have not made yet, but want to make in dreamweaver because I'll have much more control over how it looks.

    thanks,
    Judy

Also, the page title says "401 Authorization required"
would it help if I send the actual link?

    thanks

    I also tried typing in
    http://www.mydomain/zencart/admin

    and I got:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: notifier in /data/5/0/161/87/324413/user/330385/htdocs/zencart/includes/autoload_func.php on line 79

I hope all this info will help make it obvious why I can't get the admin panel to show up so I can log in.
    thank you.

It sounds like you may have a missing or corrupt file (where the notifier class is defined) and autoload_func.php blows up because it can't find that. It might help to use Winmerge to compare the server files with a freshly unzipped set.

You can't work directly with Zen Cart in Dreamweaver. As I understand from those who use it, you mostly use Dreamweaver to make pictures or layouts, and translate those into ZC styling... speaking without first-hand knowledge.
