    Default Shipping Module question

    I'm currently using Zen Cart 1.2.7d. I will look into upgrading at a later time.

    Anyways, when shipping methods are being chosen for USPS, I want to allow Media Mail, but only on packages smaller than, say 5 lbs. How would I set this up? Do I need to adjust one of the config files?

    Thanks!

    You would need to customize the shipping module for this setting to only allow it to show when the weight is <= 5 ...

    You would need to find where in the code that the output for that particular shipping method is created and suppress it in the display in the file:
    /includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

    Be careful when working on this as there are no overrides for this directory and you do not want to leave renamed copies or backups in the directory that end in .php as this is a autoloading directory and it will cause problems ...

    Does anyone know exactly what to change in the file? I'm not too sure what to change and I don't really want to just guess.

    I'd greatly appreciate any help you could give!

    Same place I told you this morning:
    /includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

    But without sitting down and re-writting the code for you it is hard to tell you what to write for this ...

    Look for this section of code around 188 and catch the title of the shipping method ... see if that helps:
    PHP Code:
            $methods = array();

    $size sizeof($uspsQuote);
            for (
    $i=0$i<$size$i++) {
              list(
    $type$cost) = each($uspsQuote[$i]);

    // BOF: UPS USPS

    $title = ((isset($this->types[$type])) ? $this->types[$type] : $type);

    I bet if you tried just a little harder and did a search within the shipping module for the word weight ... you might locate where it is used and how it is referrenced and if you have to do anything special to view it ...
