OK
I just found out something interesting, the hard way
So I installed a contribution for ZC and spend a lot of time trying to figure out why it wasn't working, spend some more time searching the forum.
Then it hit me
I'm the kind of guy who likes to save some time and bandwith by uploading only 'newer files'.
Guess what, I forgot to switch my FTP transfer setting !!!
Stupid me didn't upload some files that needed to be overwritten because the timestamp of the contribution's file
was older than the one of the fresh ZC installation file.
Now why am I posting this?
Because I'm sure that a lot of people must be having the same problem. I see a lot of posts in the support threads
where someone is saying the contribution isn't working or something isn't showing up in the admin, etc.
Then the developer of the contrib answers back he isn't able to reproduce the problem...
I'm guessing it's the 'FTP-setting-syndrome' right there...
To developers/updaters of contributions:
Put it in your readme, instead of 'upload files...' put 'verify file transfer settings and upload'
It'll save you a lot of time supporting your contrib.
To Admins
This is something every zenner needs to know
(most of them do perhaps, but it wont hurt to remind them)
