Default Couldn't resolve host - cURL support is ON but weird errors

So I'm installing a fresh version of Zencart on a brand spanking new server. I am getting THIS error

ATTENTION: Problems Found CURL problems detected: 6 => Couldn't resolve host 'www.zen-cart.com' more info...
CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 6 => Couldn't resolve host 'www.zen-cart.com' more info...
CURL problems detected: 5 => Couldn't resolve proxy 'proxy.shr.secureserver.net' more info...
CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 5 => Couldn't resolve proxy 'proxy.shr.secureserver.net' more info...

cURL support is ON, so I'm not sure why its trying to resolve to www.zen-cart.com or the "proxy.shr.secureserver.net" URLS,
    Can I fix this?

Been there, done that. Its not the cURL installation. Its already been installed and compiled. Still not working. In fact, I cannot access UPS or USPS via the cart.

That's a problem with the webserver configuration.
The server's resolv.cnf is probably not configured properly for nameserver lookups. Or something related to that.
Whatever the root cause, it's your hosting company's server administrator who must fix that problem.
