please do as the coder of this is not answering on his own site?
Shouldnt be a highlighted mod if it doesnt work?
Let's be clear here. This mod DOES work. I have just created a new 1.3.7.1 test site, downloaded the current version of the mod and installed it. It worked perfectly.
So what we are trying to understand here is why it doesn't work in your specific Zen Cart. There are five generic possibilities:
- the files aren't properly installed
- the SQL patch isn't properly installed
- you are running an older version of Zen Cart that isn't compatible with the mod
- there is a clash between this mod and something else you are running
- you have javascript turned off in your browser or running in a restricted way.
I have quite a lot of mods in the download area and in my experience the overwhelmingly most common problem with mods not working is problems with the installation. So I have created two additional test environments to see where problems could occur during installation and what the effects would be.
The first issue, and a very common one, is that mod users forget to change the YOUR_TEMPLATE directory names to reflect their actual template directory names. Or they don't do all of them (there are two for this mod, although the installation instructions imply that there is only one, so it would be possible to miss one) or users forget that the directory names can be case-sensitive so don't perfectly match the name, or they use the template name rather than the template directory name (e.g. "Classic" instead of "classic").
The second is a problem with the SQL. The suggestion in the installation instructions that the Admin SQL patch tool be used is certainly the most straightforward, but the cut and paste method can cause some problems. The first time I tried, I accidentally picked up a "1." at the beginning of my paste (despite deliberately trying to avoid it). This would have caused the patch to fail. Similarly, not getting all of the code, e.g. missing the final semi colon off the end, could cause the patch to fail in part or completely.
In both of these cases the end result is likely to be that the mod simply doesn't work. Much as is being complained of by several posts in this thread.
The issue with returning to a site's homepage, looks like a configuration issue on the site, but quite how this is picked up and manifested by Hoverbox is unclear and so will need to wait for the mod's author to take take a look.

Good suggestions but this is not copy or install error for me.I have to code-like most others- for all browsers so this is checked along with any sql errors.
Developer needs to point to some diagnostics for this.
Diagnostics would only be useful if you had the mod installed properly to start with.
It sounds as though you have the SQL installed corrected, but your files are missing or misplaced.
If they were correctly located this link to your site would show the hover stylesheet, but at the time of writing gives a 404 Not Found Error. Similarly for this link to the main javascript file, and the absence of any hover box additions to the HTML generated for your product information page, suggests that the normal Zen Cart file is still being used to insert the main product image, i.e. no hover box file installed for that either.
As the path to the javascript files doesn't require any editing, this is not a case of getting misspelling the template directory name.
To get to the bottom of this, could you tell us the full pathname to the location where you have placed the new tpl_modules_main_products_image.php, stylesheet_icimghover.css and jscript_icmain.js files?

HoverBox Updated.
Download can be found via link in signature.
- Image Handler 2 support
- Additional JS fixes
If using with Image Handler, please make sure you have IH installed prior to installing HoverBox.
I just installed the lastest version of HoverBox (after loading Image Handler 2 first). It looks like a great mod, and is mostly working for me (test site located at http://www.handspunyarn.org/. I have encountered a couple of issues and have a couple of questions:
- in IE I'm now getting a weird Close image at thebottom of every page, tho only the placeholder for an image with the lovely red X is displaying. This doesn't happen in Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox.
- how do I change the size of the hover image which is displayed? I suspect there are several options I need to change and have match? I tried a couple of ways, but just managed to break the hover.
- is there a size of large image that will prevent the scroll bars displaying?
Thanks for your suggestions.

Another question - how do I turn the Previous and Next on for the large image view?

I have also tried to get this mod working on ZC1.3.7
It installed fine, I double checked file locations, but when hovering over an image, nothing happens. If I click on the image, it just opens up the larger version. Any thoughts?

John
