Here is what I want to do.

A sidebox ....

Browse by
--------------------
-Brand
-Color
-Style
-Etc...


I have about 3800 products and would like to have this browse option about my catagories sidebox. Rather than have my customers click through multiple catagories and sub-catagories.
I have looked at the downloads section and haven't found any mods that seem to do this.
An example of this would be seen at sites like MusiciansFriend
They offer the browse or shop by feature I am looking for.

I appreciate any help or suggestions.

Brand (Manufacturer) is a stock feature, as I'm sure you know. Any other sorting method will require creating a new database field and admin entry, and probably cloning the Manufacturer function.

If your desired search fields are already used as attributes, you might be able to use those and dispense with new fields.
