Want Product Listing to be default page

I'd like to change the default page to be the product_listing instead of the current front page. How can I make this happen?

If the products that you want to list are in a top category, you can go to admin > Configuration > Layout Settings and set
Categories - Always Show on Main Page to 1
Main Page - Opens with Category to the id of the category you want displayed
Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories (you may want this set to 1)

I think I have a setting set wrong somewhere. My Home page shows when you click on a Category with the Sub Categories showing below the Main Page.
I seem to remember it working the way your Future Relics shop does. Click on a Category and the Main Page is that Category showing Sub Categories along with any products in that category. Is that a setting, or group of settings I need to change?

My suggestion will only work if the products are in a top category. Opening a subcat on the home page would requre some coding, I expect.

My site does not show a list of subcategories and a list of products on the same page - that is not an available stock function.

When I looked at your site I thought there were products, and sub categories showing in "Wedding & Betrothal, but I see you don't have pictures for all the sub categories. I thought the pictured items where products.
Do you know what file is building the main page? I'm trying to get my site to not show the main page when showing the sub categories. I know one of the MOD's I installed must have changed this because it wasn't like this before. I just don't know what file(s) control it.
