Product Browsing/Sort Order

When using my "Previous or Next" buttons to browse products, they are automatically sorted in alphabetical order instead of the attribute default sort order I gave them. Does anyone know how to get them to browse in the order I set instead of alphabetically? Thanks!

Configuration ... Product Info ...

Products Info - Product Option Value of Attributes Sort Order
Sort order of Product Option Values of Attributes for Products Info
0= Sort Order, Price
1= Sort Order, Option Value Name

I had a guy write a custom product selection screen for me using Javascript(which is in the file cart/includes/modules/pages/products_all/jscript_a.php - not that it matters).

I want to have the products display in the order described by the field "Sort Order:" in the product description. It seems like they are just displaying in random order now.

I have some programming experience and the guy is real busy for the next week or so. What is the name of the file/program that is normally used to display products in the cart? If I can look at that file maybe I can figure out how to modify his JS so that the cart displays products in the "correct" order.

I am not following which one you could not set and to what based on the current available fields ...

I was able to set the sort order field in all the products in the catalog. My problem is that a guy wrote custom JS code for me that displays the products so customers can add them to the cart. So I was wondering what is the name of the file that is normally used to display products and add them to the cart. If I look that over I can probably figure out how to modify his code so it takes into account the "Sort Order:" field for each product.

I have my home computer setup as a server on a temp basis but am afraid to give out the addr. If you still don't understand what I'm getting at maybe forget it as I don't want to waste your time. tia.

The products display in the correct order in the admin area of ZenCart.

In the normal core code you just set the Sort Order in the Product Listing settings to blank and it will take on the products_sort_order ...

To display in alpha order you need to see what the setting is for the products_name field on your site ...

If you click the title for Item it will show the sort= in the URL and that is the Sort Order to set in the Product Listing ...

I don't know what all your coder may have changed to alter the normal sorting for the list as this could have been done anywhere ...
