SSL Not Working, Admin Gone, Checkout Gone!

A fresh install to a subdirectory produced similar results...
- I am unable to access the admin part of the store; however
- I am able to complete checkout -- all secure (https)

Any Thoughts?

If you're able to login to the admin and you're able to use the storefront and do checkout properly with ssl (which all sounds very normal), then if your *other* setup doesn't do that, you've got a problem in one or more of your customizations.

So, you'll need to find that problem.

Make and keep backups while you're at it.
Sometimes having a backup from 2 days ago, after discovering something's busted, can be a lifesaver.

That's the thing... I can't login to either admin.
But the fresh install did let me finish checkout, which I can't do in my live store.

I totally read that as "able", not "unable".

Sounds like you might have a problem with PHP Sessions settings, or your browser isn't accepting session cookies (do you have any firewall software installed?), or when the session cookie is set it's not happily matching the URL/domain used by your shop.

I've disabled my firewall, cleared all cookies, and attempted admin login on both FF and IE - on two different computers with no success.

I've looked into php sessions and am not sure how to change any settings with those. Is that a server side setting?

In the zc_install folder of the Zen Cart files, there is a file named "techsupp.php".
Can you upload that file to your site and either post a link to it, or run it from your browser and paste the output here?

What sort of relationship do you have with GoDaddy hosting? (they've always been problematic for database-driven sites)
Are you locked in for any long term?

Sorry to jump into this thread, but I just had a quick question. Where is the zc _install folder? I'm following the steps suggested to make my store safer, and it said to delete that folder. I looked for it but didn't see it. Thanks!
