    Default Cannot upload new config.php

I'm still trying to change the name of my admin folder. I've found the proper file to download (success), found all the places to change the name (success), but now when I try to upload it, I get a "permission denied". I've tried with WS_FTP pro and also with my webhosts online ftp.

I have done plenty of uploading before this with no problem.

I'm also brand new to the world of web-design etc. so please be gentle with your response!

    Thanks!

What are the permissions that are set on the file on the server? If they are 444 change to 777 to upload then change back to protect the file.

Thanks for your response. A friend helped me set up the ws_ftp pro and I do not know how to change those. I've also not been able to find that answer with the wsftp tutorials.

Is there another ftp that might be more user-friendly for me?

    Thanks.

    Changing file permissions with WS-FTP
    Open WS-FTP
    Connect to your site
Browse to the folder containing the file whose permissions you want to change
Right-click on the file, and choose Properties.
    Set the permissions as required.
    Click OK

Yes, you should put things back as they were.
